Privacy Policy

How JSON Toolkit handles your data. Last updated October 24, 2026.

The short version: every tool runs entirely in your browser. Your JSON, YAML, and CSV data is never sent to our servers — because there are no servers processing it.

Data you provide to the tools

All formatting, validation, conversion, comparison, and viewing happens locally on your device using client-side JavaScript. Content you paste, type, or upload is processed in memory in your browser and is never transmitted to JSON Toolkit or any third party.

Local storage

We store a small amount of data in your browser's local storage to remember your preferences — such as your theme (dark or light) and editor settings like indentation. This data stays on your device and is never sent anywhere. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings.

Analytics & cookies

We aim to keep the site lightweight and respectful. We do not run ads, use advertising trackers, or sell any data. If privacy-friendly, aggregate analytics are used, they never include the contents of your documents.

Third-party assets

The site may load fonts and the editor runtime from a content delivery network so the app loads quickly. These requests are limited to delivering static assets and do not include your document data.

Affiliate links

Our deploy guide contains affiliate links to Hostinger® hosting, marked with ↗. Clicking one takes you to the provider's site, which sets its own cookie to credit the referral for up to 30 days. We only see aggregate click and commission totals — never your purchase details, and never the contents of your documents.

Children's privacy

JSON Toolkit is a general-purpose developer utility and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
